Juan Mejia has been involved in the film and entertainment industry since he was 18 years old. While in college, Juan worked as talent various productions. He later transitioned to operations and helping domestic and foreign productions reach new audiences. Later, Juan had a five-year tenure with the Mirko restaurants where he rose and oversaw the operations in the southeast and their in-house production company. He was able to include the film and entertainment community in his new role by providing locations for productions like the Real Housewives franchise. In 2016, Juan’s vision of seeing other entrepreneurs grow and succeed was brought to life when he founded JCM Ventures to aid entrepreneurship and scale businesses. As his clients grew and needed to expand, Juan went on to obtain his real estate license in order to better serve his clients in the whole process from site selection to contract negotiation as a commercial real estate agent. He has advised movie and music studios with site selection and finding warehouse for storage of production’s collateral. While commercial real estate keeps him busy, he still keeps active communication with film and entertainment friends and contacts. Juan currently serves on various committees for organizations like: Atlanta Jewish Film Festival and CREAR (the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s creative division).

Juan Mejia is originally from Medellin, Colombia and migrated to Georgia in 2001. He graduated from Kennesaw State University. While in college, Juan entered the film and entertainment industry as talent. He worked in front of the camera for first couple years, then transitioned to behind the camera operations. Throughout the years Juan worked on development and marketing for foreign and domestic productions. While working in entertainment Juan consulted for law firms and a political campaign. Juan continues to assist candidates and elected officials and build bridges in the community.

After finalizing the campaigns, Juan joined Chef Mirko Digiacomantio’s team at the corporate office located in Atlanta. During his five-year tenure with the Mirko owned entities, he rose and oversaw the operations of the establishments in the southeast region and their in-house

production company. He was able to include the film and entertainment community in his new role by providing locations for productions like the Real Housewives franchise.

In 2016, Juan’s vision of seeing other entrepreneurs grow and succeed was brought to life when he founded JCM Ventures to aid entrepreneurship and scale businesses. Through JCM Ventures, he was able to assist his clients in formation, site selection, operations and management consulting. As his clients grew and needed to expand, Juan went on to obtain his real estate license in order to better serve his clients in the whole process from site selection to contract negotiation as a commercial real estate agent.

Juan was a leading force behind expanding the KW Commercial division at the Buckhead

market center, where he earned Rookie of the Year Award as a commercial agent for 2020. Now he is a senior brokerage partner for DT Spade Specialized Real Estate. Being fluent in Spanish, allows him to use his entertainment, legal, political, and consulting background to serve his two communities commercial real estate needs. He has advised movie and music studios with site selection and finding warehouse for storage of production equipment. His involvement with the Atlanta Commercial Board of Realtors and the Georgia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce has allowed him to connect communities.

Juan resides in Buckhead and is an avid traveler. He loves exploring new places and

learning about different cultures. While commercial real estate keeps him busy, he still keeps active communication with film and entertainment friends and contacts. He sees knowledge as power and works to further his knowledge through continuing personal and professional development. Juan currently serves on leadership, advisory boards, and various committees for organizations like: Atlanta Jewish Film Festival, United Way YPL, and the Atlanta Ballet. Through his volunteer efforts, he works closely with community leaders in order to connect, develop, and empower individuals through community, economic, and leadership opportunities.
